Climbing Categories
There are six age categories based on the climbers year of birth; these are the same age categories as for the BMC Youth Climbing Series, plus the Under 21 category. Each category is then further split into male and female climbers.
2026 Categories
Under 11

Climbers born in 2016, 2017 or 2018

Climbers will turn age 8, 9 or 10 during 2026

Climbers will use Top Rope in all rope rounds

Climbers born in 2014 or 2015

Climbers will turn age 11 or 12 during 2026

Climbers will use Top Rope in all rope rounds

Under 15

Climbers born in 2012 or 2013

Climbers will turn age 13 or 14 during 2026

Climbers will use Lead Climb in all rope rounds

Under 17

Climbers born in 2010 or 2011

Climbers will turn age 15 or 16 during 2026

Climbers will use Lead Climb in all rope rounds

Climbers can register to compete in a higher age category however your scores will not count toward the round or series leader board. Your score for each individual route will be published, but the total for the round will be shown as zero.
If you wish to enter into a higher category, please enter your actual date of birth on the registration form, and then select the category you wish to climb in.
